Assessment ("Testing")

"Psychological testing" (more properly, psychological assessment) refers to the administration and interpretation of specialized tests to address certain questions clients may have. We provide assessment of individuals ages 16 and older for such reasons as:

    • Neurocognitive disorders ("dementias")
    • Traumatic brain injury
    • Sequelae of neurological disease (e.g., stroke)
    • Attention, concentration, and memory problems
    • Learning problems or learning disabilities
    • Emotional problems (e.g., anxiety, depression)
    • Psychological trauma (posttraumatic stress)
    • Academic or occupational functioning difficulties
    • Personality strengths and vulnerabilities
    • Behavioral, conduct, and motivation problems
    • Adjustment, relationship, and personality challenges
    • Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism-spectrum disorders)
    • Severe mental illness
    • Intellectual disability
    • Some types of pre-surgery referrals
    • Second opinion and independent medical opinion
